SIC Investment Pools (Equity/Fixed Income)

The State Investment Council manages multiple investment pools covering a wide range of investment strategies employed by the permanent funds.

SIC clients have access to six basic investment pools, which are offered, at “cost”, as a benefit for NM participants.

US Large Cap Active Pool: seeks to exceed the performance of the Russell 1000 Index through active external management, focused on stock selection across multiple economic sectors.

US Large Cap Index Pool: seeks to generate returns similar to the Russell 1000 index, at a very low cost.

US Small/Mid Cap Pool:  seeks optimal returns through active investment in small and mid-capitalization company stocks, with a custom benchmark of 70% Russell 2000 and 30% Russell Mid-Cap Index.

Non-US Developed Markets Pool: seeks to exceed returns of the MSCI EAFE International Index through active external management focused on stock selection in developed international markets.

Non-US Emerging Markets Pool: seeks to exceed returns of the MSCI Emerging Markets Index through active external management focused on stock selection in emerging international markets.

Core Bonds Pool: seeks to exceed returns of the Barclays US Aggregate Bond Index through active external management using complementary core-plus strategies.
